The culmination of my experiences: every course, activity, project, and leadership opportunity has taught me how to think divergently. As Albert Einstein said, “Problems cannot be solved with the same mind set that created them.” By taking an interdisciplinary approach to life, I have given myself the opportunity to think as an academic, think as an artist, think as an athlete, and think as a leader in an attempt to avoid Einstein’s trap. I have given myself the capacity to solve problems in a multitude of interconnected ways because I have realized that the best solution to a difficult problem is not found in a textbook, but found at the heart of the intricate web where ideas converge.
